Wheel installation instructions

Sentali wheels must be installed by a professional mechanical workshop: a business that provides diagnostics, repair and maintenance for motor vehicles (excluding motorcycles) or tires. Follow these steps to fit your wheels safely and keep your warranty valid.

Professional install only

Have a qualified workshop fit your wheels. Installing them yourself voids the warranty.

Criss-cross torque

Tighten in a star pattern to your vehicle maker's torque. Avoid impact wrenches.

Re-check at 50 and 150 km

Go back to your installer to check torque and tire pressure.

Phase 01

Prepare

  1. 01

    Inspect the shipment

Check the packaging and wheels for defects or transport damage, then compare the labels on the boxes with your order.

    • Product code
    • Model, size and width
    • Bolt pattern
    • ET (offset)
    • CB (centre bore diameter)
    • Colour
  2. 02

    Secure the vehicle

Engage the parking brake. For extra safety, use wheel chocks or other blocks that stop the vehicle slipping off the jack.

  3. 03

    Prepare to lift

Make sure the vehicle is on a flat, hard surface before removing any wheels.

  4. 04

    Lift the vehicle

Lift only at the jacking points shown in the vehicle's manual.

Phase 02

Remove and check

  1. 05

    Remove the wheels

Use the correct tools and accessories to loosen the wheel nuts or bolts.

  2. 06

    Clean the hubs

Clean dust, rust and debris from the hubs so the mounting surface is perfectly smooth.

  3. 07

    Check fitment before mounting tires

    • The wheel's bolt pattern matches the vehicle.
    • Hub-centric rings (used when the wheel's centre bore is larger than the hub) fit without play.
    • The bolts or nuts match the wheel's mounting holes and the vehicle's thread diameter and pitch.
    • The wheel's mounting face sits perfectly flat against the hub, with no gaps.
    • The spokes and the rest of the wheel clear the brakes (especially the caliper) and the suspension.

Never mount a wheel or tighten its bolts or nuts if you feel looseness or resistance, or if it needs force to fit.

Phase 03

Balance and mount

  1. 08

Check balance, then mount the tires

Check lateral and radial runout and dynamic balance before mounting the tires. If everything is within limits, install the valves and tires.

  2. 09

    Balance after mounting

Balance each wheel and tire dynamically and statically after mounting.

  3. 10

    Check stud and bolt length

Make sure the hub studs or wheel bolts are long enough for a correct installation.

  4. 11

    Use the right accessories

Use only rings, bolts, nuts and valves supplied or approved by the wheel manufacturer.

Phase 04

Torque and re-check

  1. 12

    Torque the bolts or nuts

Tighten in a criss-cross pattern to the torque recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Avoid impact wrenches, which can lead to an improper installation.

  2. 13

    Re-check after driving

After 50 km, and again after 150 km, return to the installer to check the torque and tire pressure.

Keep your warranty valid

Not following these instructions can cause vibration while driving, or even loosening of the wheels while in motion, and voids the warranty.
